Banana pudding was always a favourite as a kid! I think it's one of those things that most either love or hate. For me, it was a definite love. However, I do not love the ingredients found in most commercially made puddings. And don't even get me started on those pudding powders!

So, naturally, when a craving hit, I went into creation mode. But, I have to admit, it didn't take very long to whip this one up! This Healthy Vegan Banana Cream Pudding With Turmeric is so easy to make, and you only need four simple ingredients!

Not to mention, it's so satisfying! This Healthy Banana Pudding is smooth, creamy, and full of bold banana flavour with a subtle hint of turmeric.

I found the easiest way to make it is with pre-made cashew cream, which is also super simple to make and super handy to have on hand. You just never know when a Turmeric and Banana Cream Pudding craving is going to strike!

What Makes This Vegan Banana Cream Pudding With Turmeric Healthier?

    Anti-Inflammatory & Antioxidant Rich

Turmeric offers tremendous anti-inflammatory power, thanks to the compound curcumin. Curcumin is actually what gives turmeric its vibrant colour! And as we know, those plant pigments provide powerful antioxidant effects.

So, not only is turmeric excellent for reducing inflammation in the body, it also offers protection against cellular DNA damage and cancer formation.

    Good Source of Vitamin C

Both bananas and turmeric are great sources of vitamin C, along with many other vitamins and minerals. Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that works in synergy with other vitamins and minerals. It is also a key player in immune health, adrenal health, and collagen production.

    Free of Added Sugar

Refined sugars can cause a big spike in blood sugar, which causes a domino-like effect on hormones. Not to mention, when blood sugar levels are sent soaring on the regular, it can lead to diabetes, high blood pressure, inflammation and wrinkly skin!

This Healthy Vegan Banana Cream Pudding contains no added or refined sugar. Instead, its sweetness comes purely from bananas. Which means, the fibre present slows the release of glucose (sugar) into the bloodstream, causing a much more stable and steady rise.

    No Artificial Flavours

Again, this creamy Vegan Banana & Turmeric Pudding is made with only real food ingredients. It contains no weird fillers, binders, gums, or artificial colours and flavours! It's also free of cornstarch, soy, and of course, dairy.

How to Make Healthy Vegan Banana Cream Pudding With Turmeric

Making Healthy Vegan Banana Pudding couldn't be easier! As mentioned above, all you need is a few minutes and only four simple ingredients.

Add Ingredients To A Blender / Food Processor

First, add two cups of cashew cream to a blender or food processor. Next, add two ripe bananas, one teaspoon of pure vanilla extract, and one teaspoon of turmeric powder.

I should note, you can taste the turmeric in this Banana Cream Pudding. So, if you're not one for the flavour of it, reduce the amount to one quarter to a half teaspoon.

    Blend Until Smooth

Now, all you have to do is cover your blender or food processor and blend until smooth. It should only take about thirty seconds.

    Serve Cool and Enjoy!

Once your banana pudding is smooth and creamy, pour into individual cups or bowls to serve. This recipe makes quite a generous batch and can serve four to six people.

Enjoy it on its own, or top it with your favourite nuts and seeds! It's also delicious topped with cacao nibs, goji berries, and coconut flakes!

How Long Does This Banana Cream Pudding Last

This Banana Cream Pudding is best enjoyed the day it's made. However, it can last up to 48 hours in the fridge. But, if you find you won't eat it all before it starts to turn, you can always freeze it. It will last for two to three months in the freezer. However, once it's frozen you'll just have to enjoy it that way!

Best Season to Enjoy This Healthy Vegan Banana Cream Pudding With Turmeric

    Summer

Summer is the best time to enjoy this Healthy Banana Cream Pudding. Bananas, in fact, are cold in nature. Meaning, they have a strong cooling effect on the body, which is usually most beneficial when the weather is hot.

Foods with a cold constitution should be eaten with caution during the winter months as they can potentially hinder digestion and cause the body to feel cold.

Thanks to the warming notes of cinnamon and allspice, it's great for those chilly mornings. However, it’s the rich vanilla flavour that makes it so irresistible!

Especially when using @javasistersvanilla Vanilla Extract. It comes with the bean in, which gives it a stronger, more robust flavour, almost like you are using the bean itself! So. Dang. Delicious 👏

For me, being a sucker for those warming spices, Gingerbread is at the top of that list. A close second to my Gran’s shortbread (which I still have yet to master a healthified version 🤞).

But, at least for now, I can count on these crunchy gingerbread cookies to satisfy my festive cravings.

Traditionally spiced with just the right amount of crunch, they taste just like the real deal. But, without the refined sugar, gluten and dairy ⛄️
